Great interview, and I have been waiting for this book to drop. Pollan's books and ideas always horrified me, and many fellow veg* people I know have shocked me by accepting some of his ideas and admiring him.

Same here!! I often feel anger and discouragement. We have to keep trying even if it may be too late. Sounds like this book has some solid arguments. I'm getting a copy.

So happy Kim is doing these interviews.

Humanity is the Trump Administration in the flesh and fascist ideology on steroids (see https://anthropofascism.wordpress.com/)

I have a low, low opinion of "our humanity" (sorry, Pope Francis, I cannot verbalize love-letters on "our humanity"), based on facts, evidence, reports, personal experience, and collections upon collections of historical information and common every-day stories, including those reported in the corporate-mass media, as well as people's personal opinions and beliefs, including religious beliefs/indoctrination.

Omg. Pollan's books are everywhere!! Books on school curriculums, for children, even diet books and workbooks. Can Sanbonmatsu and other authors flood the market with similar books on the "Deception" concept?

We can't give up even if it may be too late. Thank God there are left activists like Sambonmatsu fighting both capitalism and animal exploitation. We need more.

TY for another great review!! This author says it all perfectly!! It hurts my soul and angers me that most leftists view animals as unimportant. It's why I stay politically active and constantly challenge those views about animals. I always speak out against capitalism to other animal advocates and to people in general. Anyone can raise these points when fighting for "small" laws such as no chained dogs. Capitalism is based on heartless greed.

Peter Singer's Animal Liberation turned me into a vegetarian in the 70s and then vegan in 80s. I did not know Singer promoted "humane" murder. How disappointing.

This book sounds VERY useful. Somehow I'll scrape up the money to buy it.

Thank you again, for these important interviews.

A wonderful interview and a book of great importance! Thank you!

There's a typo however-- Alice Cra"r"y, instead of Cra"c"y.
